Hello my name is Edward McCain and I am looking for two male actors to be in my next student film. I am in the New York Manhattan area and I will be filming on Monday July 20th 2009. The basic plot of the short is that a suspect is running from a detective and we have picked up in the middle of the chase. We follow the chase as it continues a few blocks and after the suspect flees to the roof off a building the detective finally gets his man. it will be a black and white silent film as I am a student at the NYFA. these roles will require a lot of running.

As I am a student I will not be able to pay the actors directly but I will supply food and water, and a free copy of the DVD.

Roles:

Suspect-this character is a man who will do anything in his power to escape from the detective who is pursuing him disregarding all safety to the general public and it property. He is a man in his early 30’s and relatively fit. He was approached by the officer and rather than go quietly he has decided his best option is to run. We do not know if this man is guilty or not but he wont go down without a fight.

Detective-this man has recently caught up to his main suspect in an ongoing investigation and will not stop until he gets his man. He is a clean cut cop in his mid 20’s to late 30’s and is able to think quickly on his feet.

Malcolm is a high-school dropout and small-time drug dealer in rural small-town Tennessee. X is charismatic but immature, running from responsibility like a plague despite fathering several children around town. Like most of the men that he has been exposed to during his life, he believes it is his right and duty to be as selfish as possible because in his mind nothing is ever his fault and he somehow is always a victim of circumstance. He enjoys the ego boosting attention and sexual benefits of being a not-so big fish in an even smaller pond. But letting his personality flaws spill over into his “business” dealings is starting to get him into real trouble. That fact along with the whispers from his conscious growing louder has begun to make him think that maybe he does need to straighten up, at least for a couple of months. Maybe.

JANETTE RANDALL (African-American female Age: 19-27)

Janette is X’s high school girlfriend from the same small town. She graduated and has been working at the only local fast food restaurant for the last couple of years. After several years, Janette seems somewhat drained by the overwhelming responsibility of being a single parent of two. While she still has strong feelings for X, her pride and love for her children have forced her to finally face the truth about him and their so-called relationship. Janette simply wants the best for her children and if that means a life without X, then so be it. That is until he shows up…She is disappointed in herself for still caring about X, acknowledging that eventually he always causes her and her children more pain.

DANCER / SINGER ENSEMBLE

MEN: Strong all-around performers 18 and up to play various characters in Munchkinland / Land of Oz. Seeking Strong Singers who move well and Strong Dancers that sing. Especially seeking male dancers who sing Tenor.
Acrobatic skills a bonus. All types and heights encouraged to attend.

WOMEN: Strong all-around performers 18 and up to play various characters in Munchkin land / Land of Oz. Must be very strong dancers. Good technique and partnering skills required. Must be strong singers with legit musical theater sound. Strong soprano a bonus. At least 4 of the females need to be strong sopranos to high B. All types and heights encouraged to attend.
Please note almost all Ensemble tracks understudy a principal role. Open call for male and female dancers Tuesday June 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Chelsea Studios (151 W. 26th Street, 6th floor, New York, NY). Please come prepared to dance. Men please bring character and jazz shoes; women please bring character heels and flat jazz shoes. Please be prepared to sing if asked. Prepare 16 bars of 2 contrasting legit musical theater songs with sheet music in the appropriate key. Songs should show off range (sopranos and tenors please show off your top range) and personality. Accompanist will be provided. All auditioning MUST bring a current head shot and resume, stapled together. All positions are paid. Total tour compensation packet minimum $850 per week (includes: Salary, Health Fund, Housing and Expense Allowance).

Casting call for feature film “Altitude Falling” (Austin, TX)

Paul Bright is casting his fourth feature film, Altitude Falling, which
is a love story that takes place twenty years in the future. The film
will be distributed in 2010 by Water Bearer Films in North America along
with dvd sales around the globe.

This is a microbudget shoot, as with previous Silly Bunny Pictures
films. We highly value our actor’s time commitment to this project and
always endeavor to film quickly in a relaxed and focused atmosphere.
Dustin Cross is the cinematographer. Krista Keosheyan is the costume
designer. Chris Ritecz is the production designer.
